We will be at the Albert Hall in Swansea on two dates in 2025. On Sunday 24th August you can enjoy The Reading of The Will, a classic murder mystery set in the 1920s. Then on Sunday 14th December we return with Who Killed Father Christmas, our entertaining Christmas script set in a toy shop.
The Albert Hall in Swansea stands as a testament to the city’s rich cultural heritage and its ambitious vision for the future. Originally opened in 1864 as a music hall, this Grade II listed building has witnessed over a century of transformation, hosting luminaries like Charles Dickens and Oscar Wilde in its Victorian heyday. From its early years as a bustling entertainment hub to its later incarnations as a cinema and bingo hall, the venue has long been woven into Swansea’s social fabric. By 2007, however, it fell silent, left vacant and deteriorating until a bold redevelopment breathed new life into its historic walls.
In 2024, Welsh firm LoftCo unveiled a reimagined Albert Hall, blending its storied past with modern flair. Today, it thrives as a vibrant community space, featuring a bustling food hall with diverse independent traders, stylish workspaces for professionals, and an aparthotel with rooms named after its legendary performers. A children’s play area and dynamic event lineup—from live music to wellness classes—ensure it appeals to all ages. Part of Swansea’s £1 billion regeneration, this revitalized landmark symbolizes the city’s commitment to honoring its history while embracing innovation, making it a must-visit destination once more.
